This is a personal notebook that happens to be public. I look after a handful of small servers for a living โ the kind measured in units rather than racks โ and I write things down here when the same problem catches me twice.
Nothing here is advice for large infrastructure. Most of it would be wrong at scale, and the parts that are not would be obvious.
Nothing is sponsored, and there is no tracking beyond the web server's own access log, which is rotated weekly and never leaves the machine. If you are curious what that log contains: a timestamp, a path, a status code, and an IP address I do not look at.
Posts are written in a text editor and published with a shell script. The whole site is about ninety kilobytes and will still work in fifteen years, which is more than I can say for anything else I have built.
